ATS Feed System

The Feed System comprises a flared steel duct that connects by flange to the ATS inlet seal.It houses a stainless steel, louvered, material infeed chute. The chute delivers material from the airlocks into the throat of the Reactor. The infeed-airlocks are mounted on to pof the unitandare connected to the Feed Bin chute. The infeed-airlocks are positioned one on top of the other. Each has a formed and machined steel body with a rotating vane. The vane has six pockets and replaceable steel tips. The rotorends have a full diameter steel plate, and there are adjustable brass seals between the rotorends and the body; these adjustable brass seals prevent ambient air from leaking into the System. The design loading is based on achieving the optimum balance between minimizing the introduction of ambient air into the system and creating maximum, non-plugging load in each pocket. The drive is by direct-coupled electric motor. The space between the airlocks can be purged with steam or other inert gas.
